MOMENTUM for the Wauchope Community Heated Indoor Pool committee is continuing to build.
President, Di Gilbert said the committee has been receiving support and sponsorship enquiries each week.
The objective of the committee is to build a 25 metre heated indoor pool with disabled access and separate hydrotherapy pool adjacent to the existing Olympic pool.
“To date we have received significant contribution from Geoff McNeill from Build 3D designs who has researched and designed the proposed pool,” Mrs Gilbert said.
“Geoff has put in countless hours helping the committee with preparing the design concept.
“Frank O’Rourke from Frank O’Rourke and Associates has generously donated his services in surveying the proposed site.
“Locally, the Wauchope Masonic Lodge have thrown their support behind the committee, holding regular sausage sizzles in the Co-op supermarket car park with the proceeds going to the Pool Committee.
“District 51 of the Masonic Lodge is also actively fundraising for the project.
“The Hastings Co-op Department Store is also now selling sponsors tiles which are hand-painted and fired by Di Holyman as her contribution to the project. These tiles will be placed on the internal wall of the pool.”
Mrs Gilbert said the committee had also received plenty of cash donations via its donation tins which have been strategically placed in a number of Wauchope businesses.
“We plan to hold a public meeting to present the design concept to the community and to seek feedback on our proposal,” she said.
“Once this has been completed the next step will be to lodge the Development Application with Council.”
