WAUCHOPE Primary School have put in an amazing effort to come away from the Lower North Coast Cross Country Carnival with the Champion School Shield.
The carnival held on Friday May 30 attracted the top runners in the Lower North Coast region.
There were plenty of brilliant individual efforts that helped the school lift the shield but the endeavour of all 31 runners was fantastic.
Teacher Ray Lind was thrilled with the result.
“It’s a fantastic achievement,” he said.
“As well as displaying outstanding athleticism the children were very supportive of each other as a group and were a pleasure to take away.
“I also want to thank all of the wonderful parents who gave up their timer to support the children and to provide the essential transport for the event to occur.”
Seven of the school’s best athletes will now travel to Murwillumbah to compete in the North Coast Cross Country Carnival.
