THE third round of the Wauchope Lady Golf Club Championships was washed out, and was played on Wednesday 11th June – results from this next week.
Jodie Ninness continued to lead the Championships by seven shots after the second round with a score of 82, followed by Lyn Kelly with 84.
In Division 2 Inez Gavin continued her good form with 92, giving her a combined two round total of 188, with Finola Moorhead four shots away with 192.
Cindy Hale led Division 3 with 112, followed by Rhonda Howard, who shot 109 in her second round.
The deferred 2nd WGA and monthly medal round was played in conjunction, and the winner in Div. 1 was Lyn Kelly with 70 net. Div. 2 was taken out by J. Hardy (68 net), and P. Barnaby was the winner in Div. 3 with 69.
These players also won the Tropical Treasurers Trophies.
Runners up were K. Fowler (71) in Div. 1, I. Gavin (69) in Div. 2 and R. Howard (72 c/b) in Div. 3.
Gross ball winners were J. Ninness 82, I. Gavin 92, and P. Barnaby 103.
Ninness was also consistent with her putting, winning the Div. 1 with 29. J. Hardy had 28 putts, and P. Barnaby 29 in their respective divisions.
The NTP’s on the 4th went to K. McKinnon, M. Avery and D. Andrews, while on the 18th K. Flanagan (Div. 1) and J. Loadsman (Div. 2) were closest.
Balls went to 78 on a count back.
Good rounds saw handicap reductions for I. Gavin 23-22, P. Barnaby 34-33 and J. Hardy 28-27.
The Pennant teams performed well against Camden Haven at Taree on Monday 26th May, with Div. 1 having a 2-1/2 to 2-1/2 draw, Div. 2 3-1/2 to 1-1/2, and Div. 3 won 5 up, and on Monday 2nd June won all three Divisions against Port Macquarie at Foster/Tuncurry
In the Friday 9 hole competition on 30th May there were seven players on the back nine and ball winners were J. Morton, M. Bird and J. Bartlett.
On June 6th fifteen players took on the front nine and 8 balls were distributed. These went to A Portch, M Kundicevic, K Fowler, I Gavin, F Moorhead, J Morton, R Wilcox and W Wallis.
