Shamrocks battle for semi final berth

3/07/2008 4:00:00 AM
THE Beechwood Shamrocks have the chance to force a play off in the 2008 Hastings League semi final race on Saturday.

The Shamrocks are currently in sixth position on the competition ladder, two adrift of fifth placed Port Boardriders.

The two teams will play each other in the final round of the home and away series this Saturday.

If the Shamrocks can win it will force a playoff while a loss will end their season.

In other dramatic news, the Crescent Head Roos have been suspended from the 2008 competition.

This follows the Roos’ poor attitude to games this season. The Crescent Head side has forfeited too many games this season, according to Hastings League officials.
